The project involved a combination of refurbishment and new-build to accommodate BBC Radio, News and broadcast operations. New TV and radio studios, production and staff facilities were created and the Radio Theatre was refurbished. Extensive new plant and services were installed. The responsibilities of the BAP acoustics team included the acoustic design of new replacement studios and other production and staff accommodation in Broadcasting House, the vibration isolation design of new-build wings and the monitoring of construction noise and vibration in operational studio areas and its control.
