Our planning and noise work embraces aviation noise (air noise and ground noise), road traffic, rail traffic, construction and demolition, industrial and entertainment noise. We assess noise by both field measurement and by modelling using software such as Cadna-A and INM. We assess the results against current national and local planning policy, British Standards and World Health Organisation guidance. We provide advice on mitigation by both planning measures, such as screening and site planning, and by building design.
We also undertake occupational noise surveys under the provisions of the Noise at Work Regulations and advise on measures to control noise exposure within acceptable limits.
